Important Disclaimer
Many oils are safe to apply directly to the fur or skin of an animal. Lavender is one of the safest to apply neat, without dilution. However, the essential oil must be 100% PURE, therapeutic grade (not a synthetic mix). When applying most other essential oil on animals, it’s a good idea to dilute the oils with V-6 or another pure vegetable oil. This is at least until you have established that the individual animal can tolerate the particular oil. For optimal dilution, add 15 to 30 drops of essential oil to 1 oz. V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex or another pure vegetable oil.
